Academy Sports + Outdoors, the Texas Fishing Forum and Texas Hunting Forum are once again kicking off the monthly and annual photo contest. Academy Sports + Outdoors will continue sponsoring the contest with $100 gift cards each month and again with a $500 gift card to the annual winner.

Winning photos appear on the home pages at texasfishingforum.com and texashuntingforum.com and are usually up between the 1st and 10th each month depending on how long it takes us to receive additional information from the winner.

To submit a photo for consideration, email photo_contest@outdoorsites.net. Photos must be a minimum of 800 pixels wide, 800 pixels tall and in .jpg format. They need to be clear and in focus. Grainy photos will generally not be chosen.

You only need to submit a photo once. No need to resubmit every month. We keep all photos on file.

Be creative and use bright colors. Keep in mind that white can be a tough color to shoot. Professional photographers will often keep a red shirt available in case an opportunity arises and the subject is wearing washed out colors. A yellow or orange light rain slicker can also really spice up a shot. Also, try shooting from different angles, rather than the standard starring at the camera strait-on shot.

If your photo is chosen, you agree to release the rights for publishing and use with advertising materials to Outdoor Sites Network and Academy Sports + Outdoors.

We will be posting the winning photos on the cover and on this page. At the end of the contest, members of both forums will pick the annual winners. Monthly winners are chosen by our panel of outdoor photographers and journalists.
